US Fortune 100 Companies by Revenue 1960

Most of the companies in the Fortune 100 in 1960 were major manufacturing companies and oil companies. The manufacturing companies included autos, trucks, auto parts, tires, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, airplanes, ships, steel, aluminum, chemicals, food, drugs, paper products, appliances, tools, business machines, computers, televisions, radios, cameras, telephones, home furnishings, shoes, clothing, carpets, bedding, draperies, furniture and military equipment. These companies made “necessities”. They made everything we use.

Most products were made in the US by US citizen workers and these products were mostly sold in the US to US consumers. These are the jobs we are attempting to bring back to the US.

The revenues reported below demonstrate how inflation has ravaged the US economy since 1960, when $11 billion was the annual revenue of the biggest company on the list.
