The US
averaged building 1.4 million single family homes per year from 1959 to
2019.
New home
starts peaked in 2006 at 1.7 and dropped to 0.4 in 2009 and recovered to 0.8 by
2017.
Housing
starts rose to 1.29 in 2019 and are currently 1.25.
In 2018,
there were 128 million single family homes in the US. There are 30 million apartment units for rent
in the US. Mobile Homes range from $35k.
Restoring
middle class jobs is the answer to allowing more US households to return to
single family home ownership and give families a chance to grow their net worth
through their home equity.
